Today american artist Grant Wood was born in 1891. He is best noted for his work American Gothic. His sister, Nan, modeled for the woman in the painting, but do you know who modeled for the farmer figure?
Are you kidding? I can hardly remember what was for dinner last night! LOL I had to look it up in my American art history book. However, I did remember it was someone he knew in town -- similar to Norman Rockwell who used everybody in his family and around town for his works.
I believe that would be Grant Wood's dentist.
